Heart Lake, Shasta, CA

I love Shasta! A lot of great places to hike here. It is so refreshing! I know I say that a lot, but that is why I love hiking! :) My sister lived out here for some time so we decided to visit her and went hiking everyday and  also had a lot of good eats! It was a lot of FUN! There was so many different places to go for a hike. I loved, loved it! This was back in August 2009 and for this hike, we were hiking for Heart Lake. Heart lake is basically a lake that is in a shape of a heart. I definitely wore the wrong shoes and my feet was aching afterwards. But it was an easy trail. Click on photos to enlarge it.

Would I go back!? YES!! Definitely!! No doubt!

Cataract Falls, Fairfax, CA

This place is beautiful! I love hiking for waterfalls! It keeps me going. You can get here going the same way as you are going towards Muir Woods, but continue on the road. We didn't know exactly where we were going, so we just pulled into a small, graveled parking lot and started our hike there. This was back in March 2012 and it was cold. It was another early morning hike so it was foggy and a little misty. It was our first time and we didn't really know what to expect. We were definitely under dressed, but we made it! LOL We brought Kinders Sandwiches for lunch but didn't eat it until we got back to the car. I'm not sure if we can eat here, but we did not see any picnic benches. The hike was pretty leveled, but then it just went downhill for awhile so on the way back, it was a killer hike! Not too bad if you take your time, we made a few rest stops and just enjoyed the scene and fresh air. Click on the pictures to enlarge it. I hope you all enjoyed this!

Would I go back!? YES!! Definitely!!

Muir Woods, Mill Valley, CA

I loved the big redwood trees! It is so refreshing! My friend and I decided to take a hike at Muir Woods Sunday, Feb. 10. We went there pretty early, got there at 9am and the office wasn't open yet so we didn't have to pay an entrance fee of $7/person. YAY!! It was also a good time to go to beat the crowd because by the time we got back, there were so many people that cars were parked out to the main road. It was a nice hike, low key, not a lot of hills. Went an hour into the hike and an hour back. There wasn't much to see on the trail we took, which was on the opposite side of the water taking Bride 1 at the start. It was cold, but as you hiked up the hills, the sun peaked in and it got a little warm. Then on the way back, going downhill, it got cold again.

Would I go back? Probably not.
